The Community Acupuncture Clinic in Oakhurst
How it works
Community acupuncture treatments are given in comfortable reclining chairs in a calm and relaxing, communal environment. Currently, most US acupuncturists treat patients on tables in individual rooms. In Chinese hospitals and clinics acupuncture occurs in a community setting.
In our clinic we have returned to this traditional community style of treatment. We use recliners, grouped together, in a quiet, soothing space. Treating patients in a friendly community setting has many benefits: There is no disrobing and many patients prefer this method and find it a comforting, enjoyable, healing experience. Friends, co-workers, family members and couples can to come in for treatment together. Acupuncture needles are placed primarily along the legs, feet, arms and hands and ears. Needles are left in for approximately 30 minutes. Many people fall asleep, and wake feeling refreshed and energized.

We offer a sliding payment scale of $20 to $40 per visit
In the US acupuncturists see only one or two patients per hour and charge anywhere from $65 to $200 per treatment. They tend to spend considerable time with each patient, reviewing medical records and asking many questions. This is a useful approach for complicated health conditions, or injuries requiring more involved treatments.
At The Community Acupuncture Clinic we utilize an efficient, problem focused approach to treatment. We rely on pulse and tongue diagnosis in addition to your presenting symptoms to decide how to treat you. You receive an effective treatment and this allows us to keep our fees affordable. This is exactly how acupuncture is practiced in Asia.
Because we offer a sliding payment scale, The Community Acupuncture Clinic cannot do insurance billing (Unfortunately this is the insurance industry mandate). However, If you have insurance that covers acupuncture, a flexible benefit spending plan or Health Savings Account (HSA) we’ll be happy to give you a payment receipt (called a super bill). You can submit it to your insurance company for reimbursement directly to you.
The Community Acupuncture Clinic does not receive state or federal money, or insurance reimbursement. The Community Acupuncture Clinic exists because patients pay for their treatments – it a sustainable community business model.
Our Commitment to You
We want to make it possible for you to receive acupuncture regularly enough and long enough really to improve and stay well.
